About Us

Building character, discipline, and athletic excellence in Raleigh's youth since 2007.

Our Story

The North Wake Track Club is a community track and field program that provides training for children between the ages of 6 to 18 years.

In 2007, the North Wake program was officially established by Alan E. Young. Beginning with only one athlete, the program continues to grow to a membership of over 40+ children and a dedicated staff of volunteer coaches.

We are a member of the North Carolina Association of the United States of America Track & Field organization (USATF). This is the youth program of the Junior Olympics in which we participate in Cross Country, Indoor Track & Outdoor Track & Field.

Our Mission

"To offer parents and kids the opportunity to join a growing and vibrant team that not only builds athletic skills, but competitiveness, character, leadership, and responsibility."

Each year children have the opportunity to learn the self-discipline required to not only enable them to develop their individual athletic potential but to provide them opportunities to learn lessons of discipline, leadership, sportsmanship, responsibility, and character. They benefit from the years of dedicated coaching and running experience of individuals who volunteer their time.

USATF Junior Olympics

Dating back to the mid-1960s, the USATF Junior Olympic program is the most visible youth athlete developmental program in the world. Nearly 70,000 youth athletes compete each year in the Junior Olympic Track & Field and Cross Country programs.

Many of America's Olympians began as youth athletes, including stars such as Maurice Greene, Allyson Felix, Bryan Clay, John Godina, Deena Kastor, and Allen Johnson.
