Planning For A Track Meet
Age-group track meets can move slowly due to the number of events being offered and the large number of participants. Parents should expect to spend the good part of the day, up to 4-8 hours, in the stands.
What to Bring
- Lunches and healthy snacks
- Cooler with ice and plenty of water
- Extra clothing (layers)
- Umbrellas (sun/rain)
- Seat pads or blankets
- Collapsible chairs
- Sunglasses & Sunscreen
- Pop-up tent for shade
- Stop watches
- Binoculars
- Camera/Video Camera

Athletes Perform Like They Practice
"The harder the athlete works in practice, and on his or her own outside of practice, the better they will perform in meets."
If an athlete needs to leave practice early for any reason, it is their responsibility to inform the head coach at the beginning of practice.
